Brooke Valentine was born in Houston, Texas and moved to California to launch her singing career. Her first album, Chain Letter, was released in 2005 and her second album, Physical Education, is scheduled to be released sometime in 2007. Chain Letter sold 400,000 copies in the United States. Brooke's first album involved assistance in production from Lil Jon, Bloodshy, Heatmakerz, and the Soul Diggas. Chain Letter reached No. 16 on the Billboard 200 chart and ranked as No. 3 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart in 2005.nnFor a short time before moving to California, Brooke, who was produced by Deja, joined a group called Best Kept Secrets (BKS). When that group broke up, Brooke and Deja moved to Los Angeles to try and land a record contract for the singer, which they did, with Virgin Records.nnBrooke had a single released in 2006, "Pimped Out," from her Physical Education album that also included artists Dem Franchize Boyz. Also in 2006, another single was released from Brooke's soon-to-be-released second album, "D-Girl," and this song featured Pimp C on it with Brooke.nnBrooke had instant success with, "Girlfight," which was very poplar on the club scene from the East Coast to the West Coast. This track also featured Lil Jon and Big Boi of OutKast. A very sexy video brought more attention to Brooke.nnReports have stated that Brooke was singing from the time she was an infant, following along with tunes on the radio. She was shy at first and it has been reported that Brooke's grandmother signed her up to sing solos at their church. Brooke has always been a natural born performer. Even in elementary school, she would sing for her teachers and children in her class in the schoolyard at recess times.
