About Bryan Adams

Classic rocker Bryan Adams has a gift for catchy, feel good tunes. With a rough, comfortable voice that fits like a worn leather jacket and a talent for penning lyrical songs that tell stories, Adams' career has lasted nearly two decades. Born in Kingston, Ontario, Adams spent his early years traveling through Europe and the Middle East with his diplomat family. He's said that his lack of roots made his decision to drop out of high school at 15 and pursue a music career an easy one. By 17, he'd recorded rough demo tracks that showed enough potential to get him signed to A&M records. He teamed up with songwriter Jim Vallance for a successful collaborative partnership that would last the rest of his long career. He released several albums of classic, heartland rock - 1981's You Want It You Got It featured the radio hit "Lonely Nights." His 1983 record Cuts Like A Knife sees Adams finding his musical identity, and is considered by fans to be one of his best. Singles included the title track, "Straight From the Heart" and "This Time." 1984's Reckless was another grizzled classic, and includes his big radio hit, the top-down cruising anthem "Summer of '69." But Adam's biggest success came with his theme song for Kevin Costner's swashbuckling romance, Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. His tender "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" went platinum. Bryan Adams impressed fans and critics with his stripped down 1997 MTV Unplugged album, where he played a confidant set of his career's worth of hits.
