About Bucky Covington

William Joey Covington or Bucky Covington, as he is popularly known, is one the famous American country music singers. Bucky made his mark in the world of music when he secured the eighth place as a finalist in the fifth season of American Idol, a runaway hit TV show.n nBucky the talented singer was born in November 18, 1977 and is a native of Rockingam, North Carolina in the USA. He, along with his twin brother Rocky Convington used to work in his father's auto body shop. Both were musicians and used to sing with local bands and in clubs during weekends. Rocky was a lead singer of the North Carolina band 'Swampcat.'n nWhen he was eighteen, Bucky learned to play the guitar by himself and started performing in clubs. Through hard work and determination, Bucky developed his talents and became a noted guitarist, bassist, drummer and a singer. But he had still not accomplished his dreams. He wanted to be a singer and wished the world to see him as a singer. Bucky was very much inspired by the Jeff Healey Band and wanted to live life on stage.n nBy the time he developed his talents, he started singing country and southern rock every weekend throughout the clubs in Carolina. Bucky, along with his twin brother Rocky, participated in the American Idol show. At the show's audition Bucky came out with flying colours in the first three rounds and was selected for the leading rounds in Los Angeles. He then boarded his first commercial flight to the world he had always dreamed of.n nBucky's exposure to the world got him connected to America's famous music companies, most importantly with Sawyer Brown's management company. Now Bucky is singing on the 20-date GAC country music tour with Mark Miller, the lead singer of Sawyer Brown's company.nnCovington's dream of becoming a world renowned singer has become a reality. Bucky also became the first idol from the fifth season to be a part of a non-American Idol sponsored concert tour with his performances in December 2006. It can be clearly seen that Bucky's talent and his determination to pursue his dreams paved his way to success.
