Slick St. Louis party rapper Chingy is MTV's main MC for instant hits. The photogenic rapper reminds fans of a young Nelly, dragging his flow over blipped-out beats and sucking on his R's like they're covered in barbecue sauce. He broke onto the scene with his debut hit single "Right Thurr" in 2003. The song, which sees Chingy romancing ladies on the dance floor, features grinding synths and The Neptune's trademark hand-claps. It burnt up the request lines in clubs and on radio playlists and broke Chingy into the music industry. With pals like Ludacris and the St. Lunatics. Chingy was well connected enough to take the South by storm. Luda guested on the raunchy "Holidae Inn" and Chingy was joined by J-Weave on the stand-out "One Call Away." The 26 year old Chingy AKA Howard Bailey, followed up his 2X platinum debut Jackpot with Powerballin' in 2004. The disc was a hit and saw Chingy and his St. Louis posse reveling in fame's excesses, rapping odes to his 26 inch rims ("26's" featuring Lil Wayne) and fly girls ("Wurr Da Git It Gurlz At?" featuring G.I.B.) Chingy's hotness shows no signs of cooling off on his third release, 2006's Hoodstar. He takes a break from counting his cash and partying with the surprisingly tender Tyrese duet "Pullin' Me Back" Chingy wants to leave a girl, but he's just got it too bad. But don't worry, Chingy still knows how to cut loose, and tracks like "Club Gettin' Crowded" featuring Three-6 Mafia and "Dem Jeans" with Jermaine Dupri show the rapper flaunting his southern drawl and keeping the dance floor full.
