The twenty three year old American vocalist, Chrisette Michele is one of the current crop of successful upcoming pop artists. Born on Long Island, NY as the daughter of a deacon, she is already an acclaimed song writer and composer. Today she is rated among great composers like Alicia Keys and Jill Scott. Since childhood she was into gospel and classical music. She was the lead singer of the choir group in High School and College and has a strong sense of spirituality. She did her Majors in Music from 5 Towns College, New York. Chrisette Michele performed her first solo when she was just four years old. And she has been creating songs since she was twelve years old. But it was not until she met the Jazz singer Astrud Gilberto when she was in High School, that she developed a taste for Jazz music. Since then her life was all about Jazz. She is also known for her community work in Long Island. Her songs reflect what she really is. Chrisette Michele has been waiting for the right musical combination to make it to the top. The young artist tried hip hop on for size with guest tracks on "Kingdom Come" by Jay-Z, "Hip Hop is Dead" by Nas, "Still Dreaming" by Kanye West and more. She is also featured in "Can't Forget About You" with Nas and "Lost Ones" with Jay-Z. Chrisette appeared with her debut R&B / Jazz album 'I Am' under Def Jam Recordings on June 19, 2007. It sold over 26,000 copies during its first week. It secured the 29-th place in the US Billboard 200 chart. She has collaborated with Babyface for a couple of songs like "My Joy" which is included in the album. "My Joy" is inspired from Babyface's relationship with his son. The album features songs like "Like a Dream," "If I Have My Way," "Work it Out," "Best of Me," "Your Joy," "Good Girl," "Mr. Radio," "Let's Rock," "Golden," "Is This the Way Love Feels" and more. Chrisette Michele is now touring all across the USA performing her latest album. She pours her heart and soul into her music at every live performance.
