About G-Unit

The G-Unit is an established team of mainstream rap stars. The group was originally a trio made up of 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Other G-Unit affiliates included the Game, Olivia, and Mobb Deep. They created popular mixtapes during the early 2000s titled: 50 Cent Is the Future, God's Plan, No Mercy, No Fear, and Automatic Gunfire. Their first album Beg for Mercy, came out in 2003, on the heels of 50 Cent's independent success. Their energetic hip hop has gangsta elements, but is mostly accessible and lively. The lead single off of Beg for Mercy was "Stunt 101," followed by "Poppin' Them Thangs" and "Wanna Get to Know You."
