These days, everyone is complaining that the music industry as we know it is falling apart. The internet is trivializing major record labels, leaving artists and labels scratching their heads over what to do next. That is unless you're lucky enough to be on Disney Records. The tween pop market is thriving, as witnessed by the unstoppable sensation Hannah Montana. Anyone over 17 who doesn't have a younger sister or a child of their own was probably caught off guard as Hannah Montana made headlines when her first major tour sold out in a heartbeat, with scalper tickets going for higher prices than acts like the Rolling Stones. Hannah Montana's popularity is based on her hit Disney channel show Hannah Montana. On the show, Miley Cyrus plays the shy but adorable Miley Stewart. Miley is a studious teenager during the day, but at night she becomes the pop superstar Hannah Montana, with her celeb identity unknown to all of her school peers; only her family and closest friends know Hannah Montana's secret. The Hannah Montana show has also featured a diverse collection of guests, including fellow Disney popsters like Ashley Tisdale and The Jonas Brothers, as well as comedian Larry David, actress Brooke Shields and action star The Rock. Of course, Miley Cyrus' good looks and success aren't that surprising when you consider that her father is the hunky country superstar Billy Ray Cyrus. Billy and the always-bubbly Dolly Parton are both frequent guests on the Hannah Montana show and Billy Ray Cyrus also frequently appears with his daughter during her television performances. The Hannah Montana soundtracks are guaranteed bestsellers, as are the Disney-released DVD's of the show and Miley's concert appearances. The fictional pop superstar is also the star of a series of videogames. Recently, Hannah Montana announced that she plans to record and release Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best Of Both Worlds Concert, which will film throughout the country and which is set to be released in Disney Digital 3-D.
