About J. Holiday
Laying his smooth voice over playful beats, young singer/songwriter J. Holiday creates a solid R&B sound. The Washington, DC native signed to Capitol and released the Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins-produced single "Be with Me" in 2006. Raised in the church by a preacher father and a dedicated mother, Holiday's early influence was secular. Later on he developed an interest in Hip Hop groups such as Jay Z and OutKast. Although Holiday started receiving attention after a high school talent show performance at the age of 14, his mother insisted he finish school before pursuing a career in music. Holiday skipped college and began recording immediately. The album Back of My Lac was released in October 2007. It was a major success with hit singles "Bed" and "Suffocate".
