Joseph Jimmy Guillermo Jones, better known by his professional name Jim Jones, is an Aruban /Puerto Rican and African American rapper. He was born in the year 1976, July 15 in Harlem, New York. He was raised in the Bronx where he lived with his mother and was later brought back to Harlem to live with his grandmother. Though he suffered the various distresses of street life there, he developed an irresistible passion for rap by finding inspiration in a wide range of hip hop singers. He began his active profession at the age of 22 from the year 1998 and since then has gifted the rap music industry with a good number of musical hits in the form of amazing albums and singles. Jim Jones is also recognized as an original member of The Diplomats, renowned as Dipset. He is the Co-CEO of Diplomat Records and also the director of A&R for Warner Music Group. Jim Jones has earned several nicknames among his fans including Kufi Smacker, One Eyed Willie, Capo Status, New York's Rider Man, and Jimmy Blanco. For a long time he worked together with his Dipset crew and his lifetime friend, also a Harlem based rapper - Cam'ron and waited for his chance to produce a solo project. Soon in August 24, 2004 he released his first album - 'On My Way To Church' along with his first singles 'Crunk Muzik' and 'Certified Gangstas.' The album was a massive success and charted no.18 on the US Billboard 200, while the singles received unfailing airplay on both MTV and BET. Over 412,000 copies were sold. His other albums are 'Harlem: Diary of a Summer,' 'Hustler's P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment)' and singles 'Baby Girl,' 'Summer Wit Miami,' 'What You Been Drankin On,' 'We Fly High' and 'Emotionless.' Apart from singing, he is popular for his mix tape releases. He is also renowned as a music video director, creating quite a few videos such as 'Get Em Girl/Killa Cam,' and 'Hey Ma' for Dipset emcee Cam'ron, and his own videos 'How G Is This' and 'Certified Gangsta.'
