Led Zeppelin headed out for their first American tour in 1969 after signing a contract with Atlantic Records. Two months after the release of their debut album in January 1969, they climbed to the top of the charts. The sophomore release, Led Zeppelin II came out soon after in October 1969 and spent several weeks at number one. Every album after was met with critical acclaim, securing Led Zeppelin's status as modern musical heroes. Led Zeppelin IV is one of the best selling albums of all time.
