About Mario

The Billboard Award winning R&B crooner Mario loves hits and he loves ladies. The young talent has quickly made a name for himself as a true player in the game. The ambitious Mario impressed audiences at an early age while performing at local and national talent competitions, using his piano chops to stand out from the other aspiring young vocalists. He was signed to Clive Davis' hit-stable J Records by age 11 but didn't drop a full-length solo disc til he was a mature 15. The self titled Mario appeared in 2002, and the lead-off single was "Just A Friend 2002," an updated version of the classic Biz Markie track. He followed it up with "Braid My Hair" and "C'mon!" both hits, then toured successfully with hot young stars Bow Wow, B2k., and Marque Houston. With the help of crunk king Lil Jon, he followed up Mario with the 2004's mature smash Turning Point. There's no baby fat here, and the grown-up club ballads "Let Me Love You" and "How Could You" topped the Billboard Hot 100. His upcoming third disc is scheduled to drop in 2007 and feature a galaxy of A-List stars including the white-hot Senegalese rapper Akon, can't-miss hit-man Jermaine Dupri, Nelly, dance hall rocker Sean Paul and fellow smoothy Tyrese. Young Mario has recently been entangled in legal disputes with his former manager Troy Patterson, claiming that his childhood guardian had stolen millions of dollars from the rising star but he has yet to receive a verdict one way or the other.
