Missing Persons was an American New Wave/electronic pop band that formed in 1980. The band recorded ten records from 1980 to 2002: Missing Persons, Spring Session M (1982), Rhyme & Reason (1984), Color In Your Life (1986), Best of Missing Persons (1987), Walking in L.A. (1988), Late Night Early Days (1998), Missing Persons Remixed Hits (1999), Classic Masters (2002) and Lost Tracks (2002). Although the band made something of a comeback in the later 1990's, the only singles released that charted were those from 1980's records, like "Words", "Windows" and "Give". The later CDs focus on remixes and the release of several b-sides from earlier works. nThe original band members included Warren Cuccurullo (lead guitar), Dale Bozzio (vocals), and Terry Bozzio (drummer). Terry and Dale Bozzio were a husband and wife team within the band. Patrick O'Hearn (bass) and Chuck Wild (keyboards) were also eventually added to the band roster. nMissing Persons musical style fit very will into the popular genre of the 1980's. Their synthesized electronic beats were catchy and fun. Unfortunately, the band failed to establish a massive fan base; eventually they faded into the background behind other popular bands that had a similar New Wave style. Whatever the case, Missing Persons never enjoyed a large volume of album sales and they never had a single in the top ten. Walking in LA is one of their most popularly recognized songs; it is frequently utilized in television and movie spots.nCurrently, the band is doing small tours in the southwest part of the States. Although no formal reunion tour or record has been announced (despite recent hype), they remain focused on their work and on mostly replaying those songs they composed in the 1980's. The electronic New Wave style that Missing Persons embodied throughout its early existence has never faded, and the band members remain true to their own musical roots.
