Created in 1983 by Maurice Star, the Svengali behind New Kids on the Block, New Edition were the first R&B boy band since the Jackson 5 to rule the pop charts. The group's delicious electro-pop sound and Tigerbeat persona provided the blueprint for the plethora of boy bands that would rule the charts on and off for decades to come. An R&B supergroup in retrospect, New Edition's line-up included an amazing number of future stars: Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, and all three members of Bel Biv Devoe.
