Paula DeAnda is a pop singer with R&B tendencies from Texas. Her music career began when she released her self-titled album and the hit single "Doing Too Much" in 2006. The release came shortly after she auditioned for Clive Davis and was signed to Arista Records; no second record has been spoken of yet since the singer is primarily focused on the release of several singles from the debut which have been quite successful. So far, five singles have been released from Paula DeAnda, and all but the very first have charted on the US Billboard. "What Would It Take" failed to hold a position, but the second song "Doing Too Much" which featured Baby Bash charted at no. 41. The follow up single was "Walk Away (Remember Me)" which has done the best so far at no. 18; 2007's "When It Was Me" plummeted to no. 113 and "Easy" featuring Bow Wow and Lil Wayne went to no. 64. She remains more highly rated on the US pop charts, with a peak at no. 10. DeAnda's style is not only heavily pop, but it is also created with a very R&B feel that leaves her open for many collaborations with popular and talented rap, hip hop and R&B musicians like Bow Wow and Lil Wayne. This has helped the singer to raise awareness for her record, and for her career, while she also forges working relationships with people who are supportive of her success. It also means that she will not be solely focused on creating music with one particular sort of sound, so she will constantly be working with different influences and keeping her music fresh and interesting. Her collaborative efforts are sure to pay off in the long run and keep her career right on track.
