Based in Stillwater, Oklahoma, 'The All-American Rejects' is a popular American song group. It was formed in the late 1990s by two Junior High School students: Tyson Ritter, the lead vocalist and bassist; and Nick Wheeler, the vocalist and guitarist.nnIn the summer of 2001, an EP 'Same Girl, New Songs,' was released by The Rejects. That year, the band began touring the Midwest. By the end of the tour, they signed with Doghouse Records, a Toledo, Ohio based record label.nnIn 2002, Chris Gaylor (drums and percussion) and Mike Kennerty (vocals and guitar) joined the group. The first international album of The Rejects was recorded with producer Tim O'Heir in October 2002. It contains the hit single 'Swing, Swing.' Their self-titled album 'The All-American Rejects,' released on October 1, 2002, was made available in stores by October 15, 2002. nnThe band released their second album 'Move Along' on July 12, 2005. The first song from this album 'Dirty Little Secret' became an instant hit. 'Move Along,' the second single released in January 2006, was nominated at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards for 'Best Group Video' and 'Best Editing in a Video.' On August 31, 2006, 'Move Along' was performed live at the VMAs. The group has also been recommended for 'Choice Rock Group' in the Teen Choice Awards.nn'It Ends Tonight,' the third single from the album 'Move Along,' was released in the August of 2006. On August 28, 2006, the video for 'It Ends Tonight' was released in the UK and it became a great success. nnRecently they finished a headlining tour called Tournado with other bands such as The Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack, The Format, Boys Like Girls, and Gym Class Heroes. In early 2007, the band played at the 'Give it a Name Festival' in the UK. nnThe Rejects formed a team with Danny Elfman to create the song 'The Future Has Arrived' for the Disney animated film 'Meet the Robinsons.' The group has a new DVD released on July 17, 2007 that features the performances from the 'Tournado' tour and other additional contents.
