About Trick Daddy

Trick Daddy is a hip hop artist who originally recorded under the name Trick Daddy Dollars. His first release was called Based on a True Story, which told the sad story of how his brother Hollywood was shot dead. nTrick Daddy has a musical style that is somewhat common in his genre, and has produced successful singles such as "Nan N--ga" in 1999 and "Let's Go" in 2004. The hip hop artist has cultivated his own fan base and continues to record despite poor chart positions. The highest rated song on the U.S. charts to date has been "Nan N--ga", with a no. 3 on the Rap Chart and much lower standing on the Hip Hop and Top Hits lists.nTrick Daddy's music has a decidedly rough feel to it and the original release remains his defining collection. He writes about living a very tough life and, like his musical contemporaries in hip hop, this is exactly what attracts his existing fans. The composition of the music is not massively appealing, however, and has not broken into the pop charts like other hip hop artists have. This is likely due to the fact that his music does not conform to the pop/hip hop standard and instead respects the original edge of the genre itself. His music is harder and more localized than that of his counterparts and although he has collaborated with more popular hip hop musicians, this has not changed the style of his delivery.nTrick Daddy has released eight albums since 1997 and while none of them have reached great esteem, they have served to showcase his style, his skills, and his desire to reach a specific audience.
