Usher is back on top with the #1 single in the country, "Love in this club" featuring Young Jeezy, and a highly anticipated upcoming album, "Here I Stand" due in stores June 2008. With his sharp style, intense good looks, Southern charm and smooth falsetto, the former choir boy kills the ladies just by looking at them. Usher discovered his magic voice after being singled out in choir at his Georgia church. He was the local star at school talent shows, consistently winning unanimously. He was on Star Search and signed to LaFace Records by age 13. Usher's debut album dropped in 1994. The production, in which P.Diddy was heavily involved, was a modest success, spawning the early single "Can U Get Wit It" and introducing R&B fans to Usher's baby-face. Which might have been part of the problem the 16 year old Usher was singing about things that make most 16 year old boys blush, which might have made critics and fans uncomfortable. Usher wisely took three years off to concentrate on his schoolwork and perfect his stage presence and dance moves. He hooked up with Jermaine Dupri during the down-time, and his Dupri-produced follwup My Way dropped in '97. The smooth, mature Usher nailed it with the single "You Make Me Wanna." The disc went 6X platinum and also featured "Nice & Slow" and "My Way." Now Usher was a serious player in the adult R&B game, but in a way it was only his beginning. The disc 8701 saw Usher getting funkier and more dangerous on The Neptunes' production "U Don't Have To Call" and Dupri's slow jam "U Got It Bad." But on 2004's Confessions, Usher shocked fans by dropping the booty-shaking anthem "Yeah!" ?Lil Jon's blazing crunk air-raid siren over Usher's velvet vocals lit up a five-alarm fire on the club floor, introducing Usher as a serious hip hop dance artist.
