About blink-182

Formed in 1992, Blink-182 was a pop punk band created by the vocalist and guitarist Tom DeLonge. The band's original name was "Blink," but due to an objection from a pop band in Ireland with the same name, the band changed its name to Blink-182.nnThe band is known for its simple, attractive melodies and romantic toilet humor. It comprised three members - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker. The former drum player Scott Raynor has been replaced by Travis Barker. The band recorded its first demo tape, "Flyswatter" in May 1993. Before the end of the year, it released another demo, "Buddha."nnIn early 1994, with Cargo Records, Blink recorded their debut full-length album "Cheshire Cat." It contained several updated versions of songs such as "Strings," "Carousel," "TV" and "Sometimes." In 1997, they release their second album "Dude Ranch" which gained widespread commercial success. The single "Dammit" from "Dude Ranch" enjoyed high popularity on many important radio stations.nnIn 1999, Blink hired Jerry Finn as its producer and released the album "Enema of the State." Nearly every track was a hit, including "All the Small Things," "What's My Age Again?" and "Adam's Song." The album sold over ten million copies, thus making the band enormously popular all over the world. In the same year, the band appeared in the film "American Pie." In 2000, it released "The Urethra Chronicles" a DVD featuring behind-the-scenes information. The band's sole live album, "The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show: The Enema Strikes Back," was also released in the same year. nnBlink-182 continued its commercial success with "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket." On November 18, 2003, it released its next studio album featuring the hit singles "I Miss You," "Feeling This," "Always" and "Down." On November 1, 2005, "Greatest Hits," the one and only compilation album by Blink-182, was released.nnIn the same year, DeLonge left Blink due to his mounting tension with Hoppus. He announced his new band "Angels and Airwaves." Hoppus and Barker also formed a new band +44 (pronounced 'Plus Forty Four') and fans perceive a low-key rivalry between the two acts.
